Postdoctoral Fellow - Soil Microbiology

We have a great opportunity for Postdoctoral Research Fellow. In this role, you will be a member of the Bio-protection Research Centre ( and will contribute to the research activity in soil microbiology, primarily investigating environmental conditions that influence the survival and virulence of soil and plant pathogens in New Zealand landscapes. The Centre is both a National Centre of Research Excellence (CoRE) with 7 partner institutes across New Zealand and a research-intensive quasi-faculty based by Lincoln University. You will be based at the Te Waihora Campus, Lincoln University, but may travel to other sites for research work.

To be considered for the role, you will have:

  • A PhD in Soil microbiology/biochemistry or Soil pathology/ecology

  • Experience in designing and conducting laboratory experiments, data collection and analysis, and reporting

  • Experience in writing and submitting scientific papers for publication

  • Experience presenting research findings to a varied audience 

  • A record of peer reviewed publications

  • A friendly, outgoing manner, with excellent communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize your workload

  • Enjoy working in a collaborative, team environment

This is a fulltime, fixed position for 2 years.
